    The poetics of politics

Wednesday 05 November 2008 at 12:54 am Oh, victory is sweet. A House and Senate majority. President. Now, hopefully the few lefty Supreme Court justices can finally retire without having to worry that this current idiot President and his cronies will fill the court with corrupt fellow idiots.

But the fear-mongering never stops with the conservatives, after all, it's their bread and butter. For all of the "I'm so scared of Obama" dimwits — Why haven't you been scared for the last eight years with that fool you elected into office? I don't get it. The first time around, I thought: well, they stole that election. The second time around though? Forget about it, this nation was a nation of numbskulls who were proud of being as stupid as possible.

Have we had enough of the neo-con experiment in idiot economics, yet? Can we please get back to the ideals of the New Deal and the Great Society? Because this whole Herbert Hoover laissez faire corruption-wins drive-the-country-into-a-depression economics is a serious downer.

You think it might happen? Hmmm...

Friday 29 August 2008 at 2:02 pm At least it's not starting out like the Kerry campaign. At least this time, they aren't shying away from the attack.

You didn't think I wouldn't post Barack Obama's DNC acceptance speech, did you? Come on, it's only four years later, I haven't forgotten his keynote address from 2004's DNC.

    Anyway, here is 2008's:

    Slideshow test

    Sunday 24 August 2008 at 6:03 pm

So I'm trying to figure out what free photo site to go with. So far, Picasa looks promising. But let's see if their slideshow feature works... I tried Flickr, but their web badges don't allow posting of private pictures. Which is just to say, though I'd like you to see pictures, I'm not sure I want the flickr universe to crawl my pictures. What's privacy in this day and age?

    Changes

    Saturday 23 August 2008 at 4:28 pm

So, I've been using my old trusty desktop mac as my web server and other file server for years now. But recently, for work, I had to upgrade to a bigger, shinier mac. Well, I am glad I did. Because the old mac is — for all intents and purposes — dead.

Which also means my self-webhosting days are over. So excuse the various hiccups on this site. I am doing a few things at a time: 1) updating the blog software, 2) changing the domain name to mscranky.com (as opposed to mscrankypants.com, so update your bookmarks, please), 3) moving all photos to photobucket or flickr, not sure which, 4) other stuff that will take up more time than I have at this very moment.

So while I get the site back to some semblance of order, feel free to roam around and check out all the broken stuff.

That awful man is finally dead

Friday 04 July 2008 at 08:29 am Oh happy day!!! That fucker finally kicked the bucket. He was a hate-mongering piece of shit and I absolutely revel in the death of that craptastic bigot.

Happy day! Happy day! Happy gay pride asshole!
